How The Lord Roborough Lodge was formed
The Lodge was formed as a result of a visit made by R. W. Bro. Lord Roborough, Provincial Grand Master for Devonshire, to The Lodge of Sincerity No.189 on the 14th April 1938.

He advised that as the Lodge had a very healthy number of members, it could afford to create another Lodge, to join other daughter Lodges - Metham Lodge No.1205, The Lodge of St. George No. 2025 and The Earl of Mount Edgcumbe Lodge No.3924. The Lodge was subsequently named after the Provincial Grand Master, with the first principal Officers coming from The Lodge of Sincerity.

The link with R. W. Bro. Lord Roborough is further depicted in the Lodge Crest shown above, which includes the Family Crest of the Lopes family.

Unfortunately, R. W. Bro. Lord Roborough died before the consecration, and his successor R. W. Bro. The Lord Bishop of Crediton, officiated at the ceremony.

Freemasonry in the Community
W.Bro John Pritchard arranged a number of charity fundraising evens during his year as Golf Captain.  The monies raised will go direct to his charity, 'Hearing Dogs for deaf People'.  A total of £1.477.00 has been raised for this very important local charity and the Freemasons in Plymouth made donations up to £300.00 towards Hearing Dogs.  John would to personally thank everyone who kindly donated to this very worthwhile chairty and in particluar to the Lodges who gave so generously, namely, The Victory Lodge, The Lord Roborough Lodge, Plymouth District & Past Masters, Harmony 156 and The Queen Victoria Chapter. Many thanks.
